Color the Characters and then Read the Books #Coloring #Creative #MFRWhooks This week, I’m sharing giveaways that I developed with my son Jamin, who’s a graphic designer. Do you like to color? You are in luck.

Together, Jamin and I created coloring books for my various books and characters. You can download seven of them for free right on this website.

The first book, Unstoppable Heroes and Heroines, features characters found in almost every one of my books.

Peril — the Immortal’s Game is a unique coloring book. It has characters but also a maze and multi-sided dice to color.

Dragons and their symbols appears in most stories where Pietas is a character. Do you like flowers and butterflies? There are two coloring books that showcase those.

You can download them, print them, color to your heart’s content, and then click the link inside the book and come back to the page where you got it to download again. You are also welcome to share them with friends.

What do you use to color?

You can pick up inexpensive boxes of crayons and take yourself back to your childhood. When I color, I use several sets of colored pencils and pens. My favorite type is gel because the colors are so rich and bright. This gel pen set has 30 unique colors and they’re only $8.99. If you have Amazon Prime you can get them without shipping fees.  They are acid-free, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

Want to know when more free coloring books are added to the site? Sign up for my newsletter and you’ll have first dibs on new ones. You’ll be first to know when my next book is released, plus you’ll get access to exclusive content limited to members.

Thank you for stopping by. Please say hello or leave a note in the comments. Do you like coloring? What is your favorite thing to color? What do you use?

Bringer of Chaos series
New book – never before published
Genre: Scifi
Rating: PG13

Pietas leads the immortal Ultras, a people untouched by death. Like them, he is invulnerable. Unbreakable.

Until he makes a mortal friend.

At his side stands Six, once a deadly foe, now the brother-in-arms Pietas trusts more than any person on the planet. Enemies had transformed Six from human into a quasi-immortal Ultra-killer.

Fate united them.

Six's metamorphosis is not permanent. Before long, he'll revert to what he was before they changed him. Dead.

Ultras revive after death.

Six won't.

Six will linger before succumbing to a painful end.

Pietas cannot lose his shield brother. Not like this.

But to save his friend, Pietas must abandon his people and engage in a sin he swore he would never again commit. What's worse--he must violate a vow made in his darkest hour...

Bringer of Chaos series #PietasFans #SciFi

What if the enemy you despise holds the key to your salvation?

If you're fighting immortals who always get back up, you'd better have a way to do the same thing. Otherwise, it's lights out...

When you're a soldier genetically enhanced to the point of near immortality and you fight a mortal soldier resurrected with the pilfered blood of your people, friendship never enters the equation.

Here's what readers say:

* I shouldn't like Pietas. He's arrogant and pretends he's uncaring, but he's one of the most fascinating characters I've read recently.

* I loved this story! A scifi bromance like nothing else I’ve ever read.

* Pietas – the Ultra of awesome powers, both mental and physical – is left helpless and doomed by humans and a betrayer from his own kind. Six – a once-human ghost who should be the sworn enemy of any Ultra – saves Pietas from a destiny worse than physical death. The two are then marooned together on a distant, most likely deserted planet.

* The Ultra has vowed never to accept help from anyone even close to human. That vow is challenged by his need to survive. The ghost has pledged to destroy all Ultras on sight. Watching Pietas and Six grapple through this deep dilemma was nothing short of beautiful for me. If these adversaries can navigate the chasm of hatred, distrust and male ego between them, maybe there’s hope for our own fractured world.

* Immersed into a setting where every character is dealing with decisions, and where the wrong one is like having a jar of nitroglycerine and dropping it at his or her own feet. Characters to root for, and a story that satisfies all of the criteria of what makes up an excellent novel.

Who will you believe, human? #Pietas #SciFi #MFRWhooksThis week’s BookHooks offers a sneak peek at my upcoming book, a military science fiction novel with romantic elements. Will you believe the truth when you see it? Think so? Read on, human. Pietas has advice for you.

About Bringer of Chaos: Forged in Fire

(Book 2 in the Bringer of Chaos series)

Humans created the Ultras, a genetically enhanced race, to defend mankind. Instead, Ultras became their greatest threat. With the help of traitors, humans captured half a million of the immortal warriors.

Exiled to an alien world with no tech, no tools, and no resources, their leader, Pietas must protect his people, find food and shelter and unite them. But before he can, he must regain command from a ruthless adversary he’s fought for centuries–his brutal, merciless father.

Ultras are immortal, and no matter how they die, they come back. Reviving after death isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Some wounds heal instantly and a few take time, but battered and broken trust? Immortals may heal, but a wound of the heart lasts forever.

Who will you believe, human?

The foreword of this book is from Pietas, the hero.

It’s human nature to lie. Telling the truth is mine. Why? First, because honoring my word means more to me than life. Second, though humans are craven, distasteful, reprehensible supplanters of power, I acknowledge you need the truth. Third, because others of my people have lied to you. They conceal themselves among you, claiming we are myth. They feed you false hope that you are safe. They lull you into complacent ignorance. The deceivers among my kind want to manipulate and confuse you.
     You believe them.
You’ve heard tales of visitors from outer space. Stories of aliens who walk among you. You call them urban legends, myths, tall tales for the campfire. Their lies have fooled you.
     You believe them.
This book relates my tale but is not from my point of view. Call it Science Fiction, but it did happen. My dimension might not be yours, but I exist. To honor a worthy human friend, I considered sparing humanity. I have since seen the folly of blanket exemption. Not all humans deserve to die, but there are requirements for being protected. I will choose few. Would I deem you worthy of being chosen?
Perhaps. I offer no guarantee. Your fate is a bequest no one can usurp.
     Believe me.
Read this, if you dare to know the truth.
     ~ Pietas
