It's "Cinderella vs. Scrooge" #holidayromance Barbara White Daille @BarbaraWDailleI’m excited to have my friend, author Barbara White Daille, visiting today. Her new book is One Week to Win Her Boss, a sweet Christmas romance. In this book, it’s Cinderella vs. Scrooge. You’ll love the story!

Cinderella vs. Scrooge

Single mom Amber Barnett loves family, kids, Christmas…and unfortunately, her boss, confirmed bachelor Michael DeFranco. It’s a crush she really needs to get over. Except, when she’s temporarily forced from her apartment, her only option is to stay at Michael’s private ski lodge, where she’s the housekeeper. No problem. Her handsome boss rarely visits Snowflake Valley unexpectedly, plus he’s spending the holidays with his family. Or so she thinks.

A stormy Christmas Eve reunion leaves Michael seeking the solitude of his lodge, where he finds Amber in residence—and in trouble. Attempting to save her from her matchmaking family, he announces they’re a couple. His good deed backfires when they’re instantly included in each and every holiday event in town. So much for solitude.

Only the more time he spends with the beautiful, cheery brunette, the more he yearns to make things real between them. But he and Amber want different things, and Michael could never be the family man she’s looking for.

For Women Only

For Women Only

I was honored recently with a 5 star review of For Women Only by Merry, on Goodreads. Click the link for the full review or see the snippet below. For Women Only originally came out as erotic romance, but now falls into the sweet category. I was always more interested in the hero and heroine’s story than in the spicy aspects. It appears the editing did this book no harm. Here’s more about For Women Only.

When Fawni Ruh, a Kin ambassador, visits the capitol planet of the empire, she meets security expert Khyff Antonello, a human. A death in her family forces Fawni to return home, but she can’t bear to part with Khyff, and takes him along. Her family demands she cast out the human, or abdicate her future rule.

Fawni searches for an alternative, and stumbles upon Khyff’s secret. The cover-up, if exposed, will betray her world to its enemies, and bare her family to open shame. Her duty is clear. Yet how can she leave Khyff to suffer in the darkness that binds his heart?

His secret truth is her people’s darkest lie.

Khyff, a former sex slave, is once again forced to use his body to save his brother. The book follows his emotional journey in learning to be loved for who he is and not what he can do and confronting his past. Mehfawni is confronting culture shock, coming from a matriarchy where men are kept in harems, into one where men fully expect to be treated as equals. And she soon wonders if her people are any better then those who subjugated Khyff.

Home for Christmas #MFRWhooks #HolidayRomance

Who doesn’t want to go home for Christmas? In the sweet holiday story, A Romance for Christmas, a widow with a small child answers a knock at her door late on Christmas Eve. When she answers, everything changes. This holiday tale is a story of love, loss, and the spirit of giving.

Home for Christmas…

Home for Christmas #MFRWhooks #HolidayRomance @kayelleallenEveryone should stay home for Christmas — that was Dara’s belief. If her late husband had listened to her, he would still be here. Their daughter would still have a father. But job and duty had overshadowed family, and home. He would never be home for Christmas again…

Dara was gaining strength daily, and would finish therapy the first week of January and return to work. Disability paid for the basics – lights, phone, water, trash collection, and she’d never bought anything on credit, refusing to dig herself into a hole she’d never escape once it got started.

She went to the closet and pulled down a box with a ball, crayons, paper, and three books. A friend had brought over a few things as well. This wasn’t the grand Christmas she had wanted for her daughter, but all the other valuables had been sold. There was nothing left but her wedding ring.

She didn’t wear it. Removing it had been part of saying good-bye to Jack.

They said it would help, and it had. Sort of. But not much.

Dara sank into one of the kitchen chairs and put her face in her hands.

Sometime later, when the doorbell rang, she grabbed a paper towel and dried her eyes. The clock over the stove said nine o’clock. Who would be calling at this hour on Christmas Eve? She stuffed the wet towel in her robe pocket on the way to the door.

Sweet Holiday Tale: A Romance for Christmas @kayelleallen #MFRWauthor #holiday

A Romance for Christmas

A Romance for Christmas

Most people know me as an author of erotic romance, science fiction romance, and gay romance. So when I said I was releasing a sweet contemporary holiday romance with no explicit content whatsoever I got a few WTFs and SayWhats comments. Even one or two HowzThatAgains. *grin* The nicest was “I know it’ll be awesome but why the change?” One person asked me if erotic romance was dead and I was leaving the fold. The short answer is “Um, no it isn’t, and no, I’m not.” But it was nice that they thought I’d know whether this was true.

I wrote A Romance for Christmas in December 2004 as a gift for my critique group and asked them not to share it, but told them some day I might. Last year, Bill Hinkle, my brother-in-law, died. I promised his wife (my sister Cherry) I would dedicate a book to their relationship, which was 25 years of pure awesome romance and still going strong at the time of his passing. I also wanted to pay tribute to our parents, who had passed away the year of their 50th anniversary. My father had once told my mother he’d go first, and then “wait for her just beyond the moon.” When it was his time, he didn’t have to wait long. She died a few weeks later. The parents of the hero in this story bear my parents’ names. The book is dedicated to my sister Cherry in honor of Bill.

You can download a preview of the book here: A Romance for Christmas (click for the pdf – it opens in a new window). There are more details about the story, and it includes links where you can buy your copy. The book is currently on Amazon’s best-seller lists in Kindle short reads, and genre fiction – holidays.

Here’s an excerpt to get you started.
