My homeworld is full of Misbehaving Robots, Immortal Gamers, and Warriors Who Purr
…among other things! Welcome. I’m Science Fiction author Kayelle Allen. I did a tour in the US Navy, where I climbed around airplanes fixing black boxes that helped pilots find their way home. I wrote my first novel at 18 but to this day, it’s hidden under my bed, where (trust me) it will remain. Gems from it, however, launched several series in my galaxy-wide universe of stories. From childhood, I was the victim of an overactive imagination and inherited the Irish gift of gab from my mother. From my father, I got a healthy respect for mechanical things. Small wonder I write Science Fiction and Fantasy peopled with misbehaving robots, mythic heroes, role playing immortal gamers, and warriors who purr.
I’m a member of RomVets, a group of military and former military women who write romance. In 2014, I was awarded an honorary lifetime membership to the OutlantaCon Science Fiction Convention for support of the convention since its debut. I founded Marketing for Romance Writers (more about them below), and today it has over 7k members. I also lead a writer’s group in my community. Now that I’m retired, I stay busier than ever. I’ve been married so long I’m tenured.
I am a graphic artist as a hobby. Most of the art and banners on this site and in my social media were created by me, including my logo. I have a great design team that I also work with, commissioning special pieces. Check out their pages. Jamin (Volgraza) and Livius (Nano-Core) have huge amounts of talent. I am also privileged to work with a cosplayer who portrays my immortal king, Pietas. Take a moment to check out Nik Nitsvetov’s amazing work.
To bring attention to other sci fi, fantasy, space opera, and sci fi romance authors, I share their work with my readers, especially on Twitter. Check out my Sci Fi list there. I also offer members of my reader group an exclusive list of authors, with all their social media, website, and genre information included. Sign up for that here. And if you want to see a great list of books by those authors, take a look at my Amazon Recommendations.

Original art by Jamin Allen) L to R: The immortal Pietas rules as king of the Sempervians. He considers Six his finest friend – even though he’s human and therefore mortal. Wulf, Alitus and Jawk — the Chosen who support the Sempervians — follow. Pietas calls Luc his right hand. Surrender Love and Surrender Trust, a sweet scifi series coming soon, will feature Luc and Izzorah. Senth and Khyff are half-brothers. Senth is Luc’s adopted son. Everyone shown has a relationship to Luc, and even if they are not aware of it, to Pietas.

What I write
My Science Fiction books are set in the distant future, and involve a race of genetically enhanced, immortal beings. The humans and non-humans they manipulate are a strong part of the storyline. The stories are about more than what they seem on the surface. Here is a list of concepts and themes.
Concepts within my books include:
• interstellar travel
• forgotten or lost technologies
• diverse and unconventional families
• interspecies and multicultural relationships
• role-playing games

Marketing for Romance Writers
Here’s a great place to meet authors and others in the community of writers. It’s a peer-mentoring group that also provides free promo for members. No fees or costs to join or take part. You don’t have to be a romance writer, despite the name.
Marketing for Romance Writers is a peer-oriented mentoring group open to the entire literary community. Ask your marketing-related questions, or request help, advice, or opinions. You can learn how to create a professional image and use it effectively, as well as ask for opportunities to join other authors in promotional efforts. You can learn the business aspects of writing.
News about pitch sessions and calls for submission are posted on the Yahoo group. As a member, you can attend exclusive, member-only pitch events with publishers. Members can attend free, online workshops and seminars.
Marketing for Romance Writers promotes for its members on most social media. Get your book cover pinned on one of the MFRW Pinterest boards, and show off your cover models. Share your tweets via our Twitter page. The hashtags #MFRWorg #MFRWauthor promote for you. Your tweet can be retweeted by members on our monthly RT Day.
If you have questions about marketing your books, join us. The MFRW motto is “seek, teach, share, learn, succeed.” Services and membership are free.
MFRW was founded in 2006 by Kayelle Allen, who heads the group to this day, guiding its direction and overseeing the numerous volunteer staff members that help it run.
