Immortals aren't like most people.

If you find one who's lived for hundreds -- or thousands of years, you soon realize they have different values. Marriage to someone who's been around longer than your country has been in existence will be a challenge from day one, but it's worth the work. Here are the top five reasons why.

5) You can expect to be showered with gifts. You won't get costume jewelry from an immortal. They appreciate quality, and because they've lived so long, have often acquired a great deal of wealth.

4) Immortals are sensual. They've generally outgrown old morals and are more able to embrace pleasure for its own sake.

3) Immortals have angst. They've been alone for decades, centuries, perhaps even eons. Their battered souls long for refuge, and who better to give it to them than their soulmates? Especially with raw, yet tender sex.

2) In order to hide what they are in public, immortals often have to pretend they're something they're not. Which means they're good at role playing. Want your guy to dress up like a highwayman or a pirate? If he's been around for hundreds of years, he actually might have been one!

1) And the top reason... because immortals love forever.

Forever is a long time to survive without romance, so if you find an immortal -- never let them go.

Reviews for The Last Vhalgenn

Duty to king and country has shaped Raik’s life since birth, but to protect them, she must perform a ritual that betrays all she holds sacred.
The Vhalgenn is a warrior, bedmate, soulmate, companion, and friend. Trusted by the king. Hated by the queen. To save the newborn prince, the Vhalgenn will risk her position, her honor, and death itself to honor the Old Ways. But when she takes the newborn prince to the queen’s homeland for a ritual blessing, she discovers a betrayal so deep the kingdom — and her heart — might never recover.
This fantasy features a strong heroine, and was originally part of the 2008 EPIC eBook Award Finalist anthology A Time To… Volume 1 – The Best of The Lorelei Signal, from Wolfsinger Publications, which is now out of print. The strong female character possesses nobility, honor, and courage, and is a role model for women. The book is dedicated to all women warriors, whatever their battle, and is written by a female US Navy Veteran.

Reviews for Trailing Kaiwulf

Travel to a godforsaken planet on the outskirts of space. Check. Hold intrusive military goons at bay. Check. Find an invisible man in a different dimension. Check. Finish out the vacation TRAIL yanked you back from to do it? Easier said than done. Yanked back from their first vacation in ages, Jee and Dane get handed a top priority mission. The pay is better than they’ve earned before as agents for the Trace, Rescue, and Identification League. After this, they might not need jobs. They’re the best there is, and the item, person, or secret hasn’t been invented that these two can’t recover. Until now. After all, how do you find an invisible man in another dimension? The archaeologist in charge can’t afford this fee, and neither can the military. So the real question is who — or what — is behind the request to trail Kaiwulf?

I like the way Ms. Allen has melded all of the various genres this book contains into a single novel. There are surprises which are continually popping up especially when you consider the relationship between Wulf and Luc, a pair of guys who previously have been adversaries. I found this book to be a page turner because of this.

You will feel as if you are right next to the characters experiences their wants, needs, pains and desires. The interaction between Saint-Cyr and Wulf are natural and fluid. The male on male action is sexy and sensuous, with the tension between them building like a slow burn to ignite toward the end. Ms. Allen has a wonderful flair and unique voice. While her previous two books were male/female interactions, this one is a male/male love story. It is nice if you know her former books as you meet some of the characters again. For example, you meet a young Senthys going through his teenager years, which is really cool and fun.

Reviews for Alitus (Tales of the Chosen)

Life gets complicated when the empress orders Alitus to find out if a friend’s lover is having an affair. Especially since the affair is with Alitus. Passion. Submission. Loyalty. A Chosen bares his heart forever.
Alitus lives in a world full of political intrigue, and he is supremely alone. As a Better, an enhanced human, he can touch no one — his pheromones are addictive. He keeps his affair with Wulf secret, because Wulf belongs to another, a powerful man allied with the empress. When the man asks the empress to investigate whether Wulf is having an affair, Wulf’s relationship with Alitus could be exposed. Complicating matters, the empress reveals her immortality, and requires Alitus to prove his loyalty. Her test will throw him straight into Wulf’s arms, right in front of the empress and Wulf’s lover. Hiding what they are to each other has taken discipline and denial. Now, it will take a miracle.

From A Divided Heart, book 3 in Thieves' Guild Academy Bundle 1

In this scene from A Divided Heart, Brinn and his co-teacher, Hahlibeth, have arrived to meet their newly-fostered charge for the first time, and take her home.

In the residence hall where Dresden and the other Kin lived, Brinn went back over the plan. After he met Dresden, he'd help her pack her school uniforms, and then take her home and get her settled.

After greeting them, the dorm Administrator escorted them to the floor where the students lived.

The door to their room was open, and two children sat on one of the six small beds, sharing a flatscreen on their laps. The other three sat in a circle on another bed. All five fastened their gazes on Brinn and then Hahlibeth. No one spoke.

"Children, how are you this evening?" The Administrator took a step back. "This is Mr. Brinn, and Ms. Hahlibeth."

"We know who they are." Dresden climbed off the bed and stood. Except for amber cat's eyes, she looked human. HalfKin were a genetic grab bag. One might look more like the human parent, and another might resemble the Kin.

Of the four other children in the room, only two of the girls had pointed Kin ears atop their heads. Which, as Kin liked to say, was where ears belonged.

"I'll leave you to it." The Administrator gave a short bow, and left.

"Hello." Brinn held up a hand.

"Hi, everybody." Hahlibeth smiled. "I'm happy to meet all of you."

Fihnn, youngest of the HalfKin students and the only boy, scrambled off the bed and toddled over to Hahlibeth. "Look, teacher!" As she stooped before him, he stuck a finger in his mouth. "I got a fang!"

"Oh, my." She squatted beside him. "And a nice one too. What do you think, Brinn?"

He went down on one knee. A single sharp tooth poked through the gum behind a loose bottom front tooth. "Wow! That's amazing. Did it hurt coming in?"

"Nuh uh. I was brave." Fihnn turned to the girl on the bed. "Wasn't I, Monti? I was brave. I didn't cry one bit. Monti says it's okay to cry, but I didn't."

That all the HalfKin children shared a dorm room, Brinn knew. He hadn't thought about what it would be like when a Guild family fostered one child, leaving the others behind. He renewed his vow to do all in his power to ensure each foster child found a loving home.
