If you don't want to feel—please don't read my books.
I write stories that grab you. My goal is to always tell emotional stories that capture your attention and don't let go. You won't find "...and she felt sad" in any of my books. You'll feel sad yourself.
If you give these books a shot, I promise you a rollercoaster ride with thrills and chills and all the whooping and yelling that belongs on a great ride. When the story ends and the rollercoaster stops, the words I hope you'll say are, "Let's do it again!"
Do you read dark fiction?
I write fast-paced, powerful stories. My general rule is to place my characters in situations where they run for their lives, try to escape by climbing a tree...and then I threw rocks at them. I'm not sure my characters love me as much as I love them. But I always rescue them. I never end a story without at least a happy-for-now and/or a hope for a better future. Who doesn't love writing series that bring hope?
But it wasn't until I took a course called "How to Write Dark Fiction" that I recognized my writing actually was dark. Since then, I've done my best to identify the themes in each book that might be distressing for certain individuals. It's taken time, because I wanted to be thorough as well as honest.
The following list features as many trigger warnings as possible for my books and stories. I'm as honest as I know how to be in these warnings, to help you prepare for potentially distressing content and allow you to make informed choices about engaging with the material. While some stories may seem dark, they are also no-holds barred on what it takes to write Unstoppable, Unshakeable, Unforgettable Characters. I write Happy Ever After stories where possible, and where not, then Happy For Now.
Here's what readers say about the emotion in my books.
A Good Sci-fi Book should transport you to a world that exists outside what "we" consider our normal plane of existence. A Great Sci-fi Book will not only transport you there but have you believing such a world exists. That is 100% what Kayelle Allen's books do for me. Her Sci-fi writing style is simply beyond compare IMHO. ~ Barbara B
Kayelle Allen absolutely knows how to set the scene on fire with the raging desires between the intense characters of her story. The passion and lust can positively burn a hole on the electronic screen. Once you have tasted the blazing passion in Jawk, you would definitely not want to miss Wulf and Alitus, the two previous books of The Chosen Series. So make sure you get these delicious males too when you tackle Jawk. ~ RJ
I need to mention how intensely erotic I found the love scenes in this novel. This is noteworthy because these scenes are not at all graphic. Although Luc and Izzorah clearly have gay sex, no details are provided. Nevertheless, the heat flowing between the two men is palpable and vicariously arousing. Ms. Allen also uses Kin physical attributes, such as retractable claws and a soft pelt on the chest, to heighten the eroticism. As an author of explicit romance, I was deeply impressed. ~Lisabet Sarai
Kayelle Allen is a fine wordsmith and originator of universes, when I read her stories, I leave my everyday world behind, I feel I'm there experiencing what she's written. Quite often I'm surprised when I stop and realise I'm still sitting at home, same place as I started 2-3 hour's prior. ~Sunshine Worshipper
For Her Only is the second book in the Antonello Brothers series and, this time, we hear Khyff Antonello's story...and, wow, what a life of tragedy, pain and humiliation it is. It was truly heartwrenching trying to come to terms with the many injustices that had befallen someone so young. Kayelle Allen's skillful exposition kept me invested in Khyff as a person and in his fate throughout the story. ~Merry
Amazeballs Science Fiction Romance. I thoroughly enjoyed accompanying Khyff and Fawni on their fast-paced quest and was at once engrossed in and horrified by Khyff's painful path to emancipation. Secondary characters in this story are well fleshed-out and add excitement and complexity to the plot. I really loved this outcome because it was a HEA for Khyff and Fawni in the name of justice over power. I have no hesitation in recommending it as a captivating and engaging science fiction romance. ~Gurr

Forged in Fire – Bringer of Chaos 2
Marooned on an alien world. No food. No shelter. No weapons. Enemies aplenty. And the only one watching his back is his captor.
When traitors maroon the immortal king Pietas on an alien planet, there's no escape. Half a million of his followers were transported as well, asleep in their cryopods.
Pietas could create a new world, rule his people, and start completely over. Except there's no technology, no infrastructure, and every pod is set to open at the same time. Stacked atop one another in inoperable units, the pods will trap his fellow immortals in a gruesome cycle of repeated deaths, lodged within the very pods that should have offered sanctuary.
Unless Pietas can free them before that happens.
At his side is an irascible mortal who'd once been his jailer, and a fascinating woman who's the designer of their people's finest weapons—and telepathic. Just his luck, Pietas has been adopted by an entire tribe of know-it-all sentient panthers.
But first, he must deal with the most dysfunctional family in the history of forever...
