Some empires are held together by fear. Others by law.
The Tarthian Empire endures because one man has spent a lifetime ensuring duty outweighs ambition.
Meet the Harbinger.
"Intelligent stillness."
Some leaders command through fear. Others through charisma. As the Harbinger, Luc Saint-Cyr commands because people trust him.
Luc Saint-Cyr
If Pietas is the force that transformed the galaxy, Luc is the man who helped ensure it endured. He has known public triumph, private heartbreak, and the burden of carrying an empire on his shoulders. Through it all, he has never stopped building toward tomorrow.
Luc serves the King as General and commands the Dominion Forces, charged with defending all territories under the King's sovereignty.
For centuries he has stood beside Pietas—not as a servant or sycophant, but as the rare person willing to speak honestly to a king who has outlived civilizations.
On Kelthia, few spoke Luc Saint-Cyr’s name aloud.
They simply called him the Harbinger, or the Man—as though saying more might summon him.
As Cyr de Typhin, Luc designed the layout of modern Tarth City, a blueprint still followed over a century later. His crowning achievement, Tarth City Park, remains the city's green heart, complete with hidden tunnels and secret refuges known only to a handful of trusted individuals.
Across multiple lifetimes, Luc has served as architect, farmer, guildmaster, entrepreneur, military commander, and statesman. Whatever role history required, he approached it with the same determination—to leave the world better than he found it.
Luc's affection for Tarth City is deeply personal. He watched it grow through the centuries, helped shape its streets and parks, and still finds quiet satisfaction in crossing a bridge he once designed under another name.
Although numerous landmarks commemorate his earlier identities, he has repeatedly declined efforts to rename buildings in Luc Saint-Cyr's honor. To him, the purpose of a structure has always mattered more than the name carved above its door.
People often expect Luc to be remembered for his rank or his influence. Instead, they remember his steadfast loyalty, his quiet resilience, and the kindness he extends to those who have nowhere else to turn. He has spent centuries building cities, organizations, and alliances—but his greatest legacy is the people who found hope because he believed in them.

In this lifetime, Saint-Cyr isn't military—one of the first ever—and he's enjoying it.
Luc invests in technologies that shape the Empire's future, and believes excellence is worth pursuing whether it appears in engineering, architecture, diplomacy, couture... or the perfect cup of coffee.
Those meeting him for the first time often notice the immaculate tailoring, rare gemstones, and effortless confidence. Some mistake this for vanity.
It isn't.
Luc understands that appearances communicate long before words are spoken. He dresses with purpose, negotiates with precision, and enters every room knowing exactly the impression he intends to leave.
Behind that polished exterior is a man of fierce loyalty, deep friendships, quiet humor, and a heart that has endured profound loss without surrendering hope. His composure is earned, and the product of surviving heartbreak without surrendering the qualities that made him love in the first place.
A Sen'dai's Legacy
After Luc retired, one of his former Deshai considered leaving the Guild after tragedy struck a student he was training. Luc traveled across worlds to spend three days with him in the wilderness. Before returning home, he quietly transferred ownership of his own training house to his former student and told him it was time to get back to work.
Harbinger Deshai
A Deshai is more than an apprentice. Guild tradition places a Deshai under the personal guidance of a Sen'dai, often for years. They train together, live together, and build bonds that frequently last a lifetime.
Luc inherited his first five Deshai after the death of their Sen'dai in their teens, honoring a promise to both their former teacher and King Pietas. For the next seven years, he devoted himself to their training, raising them as much as instructing them.

FROM THE HARBINGER:
With all respect to our beloved Empress, having my name appear below hers is an honor. I have spent many lifetimes standing at her side. This arrangement seems entirely proper. She always comes first.
