Shohn has only one goal: live a lie-filled life undercover. The elite head of security permits herself no family ties and few friends. But when firestorm scientist Joe needs help to locate his birth mother, and hires Shohn, she begins to rethink her rule of isolation.

Unknown to them, their intensive search triggers an alert that brings powerful, dark forces into play. Every attempt to uncover the truth results in more cover ups. But why? Who is this young woman, and who is the unknown person or power foiling Shohn and Joe's attempts to find her?

But maybe the better question is--what is she?

Though Blind Gambit is a fun sci-fi tale in the vein of Ready Player One, it’s primarily about disability.

As a writer who has only five percent vision left in my good eye, I wanted to write something to capture the experience of living with a disability.

I’ve read a lot of book featuring blind characters (rarely protagonists), and I’ve yet to come across a blind character who feels real.

So, I decided to mash together a love letter to gaming (something I can no longer do), with a story and main character I hope will resonate as true without being preachy, especially to other readers living with disabilities.

The idea that you can download mastery directly to your brain (like an app) without putting in the work, and the weaponization of that technology, creating a new worldwide threat. With how we are all connected digitally over the internet and social media, what if you could take that tech and apply it to real life? The book merges sci-fi elements with the martial arts, using familiar tropes and humor to create a fun adventure. It's part kung-fu movie, with the flavor of a spy thriller with a dash of cyberpunk. Favorite genres blended into a melting pot. This novel is based on a feature film script being developed into a movie.
