A ring of braided grass. A promise. Ten years of separation.

And memories of an innocent love with the power to last through time.

#Review: Over and Over Again by Cole McCade #MMRomance #AgeGap #MMReadsWhen Luca Ward was five years old, he swore he would love Imre Claybourne forever. Years later, that promise holds true—and when Luca finds himself shipped off to Imre's North Yorkshire goat farm in disgrace, long-buried feelings flare back to life when he finds, in Imre, the same patiently stoic gentle giant he'd loved as a boy. The lines around Imre's eyes may be deeper, the once-black night of his hair silvered to steel and stone…but he's still the same slow-moving mountain of a man whose quiet-spoken warmth, gentle hands, and deep ties to his Roma heritage have always, to Luca, meant home.

The problem?

Imre is more than twice Luca's age.

And Luca's father's best friend.

Yet if Imre is everything Luca remembered, for Imre this hot-eyed, fey young man is nothing of the boy he knew. Gone is the child, replaced by a vivid man whose fettered spirit is spinning, searching for north, his heart a thing of wild sweet pure emotion that draws Imre into the compelling fire of Luca's frustrated passions. That fragile heart means everything to Imre—and he'll do anything to protect it.

Even if it means distancing himself, when the years between them are a chasm Imre doesn't know how to cross.

But can he resist the allure in cat-green eyes when Luca places his trembling heart in Imre's hands…and begs for his love, over and over again?

Over and Over Again

Cole McCade's book reveals love and longing across a vast chasm of time. The story unfolds in a picturesque North Yorkshire goat farm. The relaxed charm of the place serves as a perfect backdrop for rekindling a bond that endured a decade of separation.

Luca Ward, filled with raw emotion and the eager-to-live attitude of youth, knows his feelings are real. Imre Claybourne, a gentle giant whose unwavering steadiness feels like home, draws him in with unconditional love.

McCade captures the tension created by their age difference and social boundaries. Imre serves as an anchor for Luca and as a man confronting the weight of responsibility and restraint. The language used to describe setting and characters is rich and wonderful. I've reread this book many times.

His writing pulled me into the characters' inner worlds and memories. Each time Luca and Imre interact, the scene overflows with the intimacy of past loves. The desire and protectiveness of an older man for a younger one comes through the pages with grace and power.

Over and Over Again reminded me of the enduring power of love. Anyone who appreciates a deeper, more sensitive exploration of romance will find this book un-put-downable.

#Review: Pitch Perfect by Ann Lister #MMRomance #RockstarRomance

#Review: Pitch Perfect by Ann Lister #MMRomance #RockstarRomance

#Review: Pitch Perfect by Ann Lister #MMRomance #RockstarRomanceGage Tennison: I've played the role of rockstar for an eternity—or so it seems. Coming off a long tour didn't help my attitude, either. I should have been writing instead of partaking in the perks. So, while the rest of my band enjoyed a vacation, I was alone in the Adirondacks working. I guess I deserved that.

Everyone suggested a collaborator to push me through my block but it felt like cheating. I'd never needed help before, so why now?

Sometimes help appears when you least expect it. How was I to know the gorgeous man hired as my personal assistant would be exactly what I needed—professionally and personally. It was the latter which shocked me because I didn't notice men—not like that. Not until a guy with striking gray-blue eyes locked gazes with me and the music we created wasn't just on paper.

Cain Bennington: I'm very good at my job. I'm organized to a fault which makes me a perfect assistant for the high-end entertainers I work for.

Another secret skill I have is composing music. I hear nuances that others miss and I also understand the theory behind the verses. I might be proficient as an assistant but I shine even brighter as a composer. I've never showcased my abilities—until a certain rockstar dropped the challenge into my lap and before the album was completed, I'd fallen for him.

But as the entertainment business discovered my skills as a composer, they also learned a piece of my history I'd hoped to keep hidden. Now I wonder if my past will over-shadow the music we created or the relationship we built.

Pitch Perfect

Pitch Perfect by Ann Lister was a great read. Right from the start, Gage Tennison felt relatable—not a typical lead, but someone who's jaded from his rockstar lifestyle, trying to find his footing. Cain Bennington's character balances him. Cain is more reserved, organized, and has a talent for music composition that makes him easy to like. Their chemistry seemed genuine, especially watching Gage discover himself through Cain's influence. I liked the natural way their connection developed without feeling rushed. The book handled Cain's past well, adding depth to his character without overshadowing the romance. The Adirondack setting was new to me, and it gave the scenes a calm backdrop for their relationship. Ann Lister did a solid job portraying a realistic relationship and kept me interested to the end. Pitch Perfect is one I'd comfortably recommend to anyone looking for a casual but meaningful gay romance.

The Retreat by Andi Jaxon and JR Gray

I'll do anything not to marry the girl my parents want me to.

Including marrying her brother in a drunken panic.

I'm not gay, but I can fake it long enough to get our parents off my back, right?

Cue hiding out for the next two years, but nothing is that simple, because I'm offered a spot on the US National team.

Now we have to fake it for the entire world as the poster boys of gay fencers while Colin makes me doubt everything I think I am.

I'm not prepared for all the ways I depend on Colin. Or the place he's filling in my life.

But I can't keep this up.

I'm slipping on a national stage.

And he's going to press every button until I snap, ruining this for us both.

Review: The Retreat by Andi Jaxon and JR Gray

To start, it almost didn't matter what this book was about, because I fell in love with the character on the cover. The look on the character's gorgeous face—vulnerable and unsure—grabbed my attention. I write romance as well, and also have a blond character who wears multiple rings, bracelets, and necklaces. He's my personal weakness, so this cover made me snatch up the book immediately.

The Retreat features the classic trope of fake relationships, and it's classic for a reason. I loved this story on so many levels. Right from chapter one, you know these characters. Here are the lines that give them away, on maybe page 3.

Colin: "If you marry my sister, I will kill you. She's not ready."

Owen: "If I don't marry your sister, my parents will disinherit me. Can you imagine me paying for my own therapy and medication? So do your worst, not like I wanted to live to thirty, anyway."

The humor grabbed my attention right from the start, blended with moments of genuine character engagement throughout. The characters' pressure to conform to their parents' expectations while also blowing them off endeared them to me.

Colin adds depth to the story, pushing Owen to reconsider his identity in a way that's both funny and eye-opening. The dynamic between the two has plenty of tension, but their chemistry makes their moments together authentic. It hits solid emotional beats. You can't help but feel for them as they retreat to muddle their way through their new relationship.

Both these guys had serious issues with their parents, and I rooted for these guys as they figured out how to deal with the issue.

The Retreat is an entertaining exploration of love, identity, and the absurdity of trying to fit into boxes created by someone else. Definitely worth checking out.

For years, Clayton Potter’s been friends and workout partners with Ronnie. Though Clay is attracted, he’s never come on to Ronnie because, let’s face it, Ronnie only dates women.

#Review: Eyes Only for Me by Andrew Gray #MMRomance #GayRomance#PrideInOurBooksWhen Clay’s father suffers a heart attack, Ronnie, having recently lost his dad, springs into action, driving Clay to the hospital over a hundred miles away. To stay close to Clay’s father, the men share a hotel room near the hospital, but after an emotional day, one thing leads to another, and straight-as-an-arrow Ronnie make a proposal that knocks Clay’s socks off! Just a little something to take the edge off.

Clay responds in a way he’s never considered. After an amazing night together, Clay expects Ronnie to ignore what happened between them and go back to his old life. Ronnie surprises him and seems interested in additional exploration. Though they’re friends, Clay suddenly finds it hard to accept the new Ronnie and suspects that Ronnie will return to his old ways. Maybe they both have a thing or two to learn.

Eyes Only for Me by Andrew Grey

This book hits a sweet spot in the gay romance genre. The story follows Clayton and Ronnie, who have long been friends and gym buddies.

When life throws a curveball at Clay, Ronnie steps up in a big way, proving he's more than just a friend. The tension between them is real, and it's refreshing to see how they deal with their feelings. The hotel room scene is intense and feels natural, as it evolves from a moment of comfort to more intense.

Ronnie faces his own issues while also stepping into a new relationship with Clay. The back-and-forth dynamics are fun to read. This book balances emotional depth with light-hearted moments, making it enjoyable from start to finish. Recommended.

#Review: Davo by NR Walker #MMRomance #Outback

#Review: Davo by NR Walker #MMRomance #Outback

#Review: Davo by NR Walker #MMRomance #OutbackWhen Fergus Galloway takes on a research trip to a tiny mining town in the far Western Australian Outback, he's as far from Sydney as he can get.

Which is entirely the point.

He arrives in Pannalego totally unprepared for the baking heat, unprepared for the people who call it home, unprepared for the craziness and the laughs. And absolutely unprepared for the man he meets there who steals his heart.

Davo is a mining man, as rugged as he is gorgeous. Loves his found family, loves where he lives, and loves his life. He also loves the feel of soft fabric on his skin.

What was supposed to be a short field trip changes Fergus's life. Going to a place many call uninhabitable might turn out to be the only place he wants to live.

Davo

This was a delightful read that brought together an unlikely pair in a remote Australian town. Fergus Galloway's research trip takes him far from the comforts of Sydney, and the contrasts couldn't be more striking. The description of Pannalego’s heat adds a real sense of place, making it feel alive.

Fergus is relatable, especially as he struggles with the quirks of his new surroundings. Then there's Davo, who is genuinely charming. The chemistry between them feels natural and fun, making their connection believable. The secondary characters add depth and bring warmth to the story, creating a sense of community.

The humor throughout lightens the mood and balances the more serious moments. It’s a lovely tale about unexpected love and finding a place to belong. The cover got my attention and the words kept it. Recommended.

#Review: Damaged Saints by Layla Dorine #MMRomance #RockstarRomance

#Review: Damaged Saints by Layla Dorine #MMRomance #RockstarRomance

#Review: Damaged Saints by Layla Dorine #MMRomance #RockstarRomanceLast year, days after Rocktoberfest, the band Damaged Saints were onstage when a pyro accident burned their drummer and seriously injured their singer when flying bits of burning shrapnel hit him, damaging his voice and leaving him unable to continue as the band's singer.

He's now their new manager, and thanks to a friend from another band, they've got a lead on a new singer. Jagger is smokin' hot, charismatic as hell, and so far, has few inhibitions, which makes him perfect for their rather snarky, salacious crew.

Just one problem: Jagger has only ever sung with cover bands and never on a large scale or even at a venue larger than a small-town waterfront festival. He's used to having less than four feet to move around in, which doesn't translate well on an enormous stage. With less than a month to draw some hidden moves out of him, the band will use any means at their disposal and maybe even discover if Jagger is the perfect fit for them off the stage too.

Damaged Saints is a book in the multi-author Road to Rocktoberfest 2023 series. Each book stands alone, but why not read them all and see who hits the stage next? Hot rock stars and the men who love them. What more could you want? Kick back, load up your Kindle, and enjoy the men of Rocktoberfest!

Damaged Saints

This book brings together a solid mix of music, humor, and romance. The story follows a band trying to regroup after a devastating accident leaves them needing a new singer. The dynamic between the characters is fun, especially as they embark on this challenge with their new frontman, Jagger. He's not just easy on the eyes; his charisma adds a great energy to the group.

Watching the band adapt to Jagger's past and help him step up to the big leagues is enjoyable. Banter and chemistry fill the guys' interactions. Dorine does a great job of portraying the highs and lows of band life while layering in the romance. As a fan of rock star romances, I enjoyed the music and interaction. It's a light read that hits all the right notes.

#Review: The Sunny Side by Lily Morton #MMRomance #FashionWeek

#Review: The Sunny Side by Lily Morton #MMRomance #FashionWeekJonas Durand is successful, rich, and controlled. He owns a prestigious modelling agency and has the world at his fingertips, but a turbulent childhood has taught him to be focused and never deviate from a plan.

Dean Jacobs threatens that stance. He's one of the world's most sought-after supermodels, but he's also laid-back and lighthearted and free in a way that Jonas has never quite managed.

Dean has always been interested in Jonas and has never made any secret of his admiration, but from the beginning, Jonas put him in a neat little box labelled, "Don't touch," turned the key, and never looked back.

However, the universe seems determined to thwart Jonas's plans. Over the course of one hot summer, the two men come together, and Jonas's well-ordered life becomes something a whole lot wilder.

Moving from the glamorous worlds of London and Paris Fashion Weeks to the sleepy South of France, Jonas finds himself liberating partridges, chasing his supermodel, and falling in love.

From bestselling author Lily Morton comes a romantic comedy set in the fast-paced and snarky world of modelling. This is the first book in the Model Agency series.

The Sunny Side

This book blends romance with the fast-paced fashion world. Jonas is a man used to being in control, and he has a lot on his plate. Dean is the opposite—easygoing and charming, with an air that makes others gravitate to him.

Their differences create natural tension. I liked the switch between frenetic fashion week to chill moments in the French countryside. Dean and Jonas are relatable, and their interactions witty and relaxed. This was a light, enjoyable story that kept me interested in what was going to happen next.

If you like romance with some humor mixed with glamour, you'll love this. It looks like a promising series. Recommended.

#Review: The Runner and the Runaway by Merry Farmer #MMRomance #HistoricalRomance #Regency

Welcome to The Perdition Club, where roles are reversed and nothing is what it seems…

Theophilus Brunner is one of the toughest Bow Street Runners in London…but his life and fortunes hang by a thread. He is caught between his duty to bring down Perdition as a den of sin, and his unrequited fascination with Giles, Perdition’s most popular—and wickedest—attraction. With his financial situation in ruins, if he doesn’t follow the orders of his superiors, he could end up back in the poorhouse, where he spent his childhood, which would crush his spirit forever.

#Review: The Runner and the Runaway by Merry Farmer #MMRomance #HistoricalRomance #RegencyGiles might be renowned as Perdition’s most amiable angel now, but he once lived quite a different life. When he agrees to help Theo solve a blackmailing scheme so that the handsome, heartbreaking runner can keep his professional position, that past turns out to be the key to Theo’s salvation. But will exposing the truth of who he truly is condemn Giles to a life of horror? And will it be worth it if his darling runner is saved?

An MM Regency romance full of wicked teasing, a bear who takes himself too seriously, following the right people to the wrong place, three little sisters that shouldn’t be messed with, and an act of sacrifice that leads to an unexpected twist of fortune.

The Runner and the Runaway

This MM Regency romance by Merry Farmer weaves themes of duty, desire, and redemption within the intriguing backdrop of The Perdition Club.

Farmer drew her characters with great depth, making them relatable and fun to read. Theo, as a determined Bow Street Runner, struggles between integrity and obligation, which contrasts with Giles and his many hidden, past layers.

The story explores the delicate balance between societal expectations and personal truths. Chemistry between Theo and Giles is full of witty banter and heartwarming moments that reveal their vulnerable hearts. All the supporting cast, especially the trio of mischievous sisters, adds delight to the story, and provides lighter moments in contrast to the more serious undertone.

The pacing held twists that kept me engaged, and I enjoyed seeing the characters develop. As secrets unfold, the emotional stakes rose. The ending provided a satisfying resolution.

The Runner and the Runaway explores love and sacrifice, revealing that even in the most unexpected places, true worth abides.

#Review: A Man's Sword by WM Kirkland #MMRomance #TimeTravel

When Gabriel Woodweiss brought home an ancient sword to display as his latest antique treasure, he didn’t imagine that its original owner would show up in his basement to claim his property. One moment Marius was praying to his god to save him from servitude in the gladiator ring; the next he’s in a room where the only familiar object is his sword. The fact that a handsome man claims ownership of Marius’s beloved weapon—and knowledge of the strange and wonderful world in which he now finds himself—is proof to Marius’s mind that sometimes the gods do answer the faithful. Now Marius just has to convince Gabriel that keeping the sword is fair and just—as long as he keeps the man who comes with it.

A Man's Sword

This book by WM Kirkland offers an interesting mix of time travel and romance that feels fresh. The characters are relatable, especially Gabriel. He's a regular guy who finds himself in a wild situation when Marius appears out of nowhere. Marius is intriguing, full of life and shaped by his past in a way that draws you in. Their chemistry and connection grow as they navigate this crazy turn of events.

The banter between Gabriel and Marius lightens up the mood, making the story fun to read. The pacing keeps things moving without feeling rushed. The historical bits are woven in nicely, adding layers to Marius's character and giving readers a taste of his world. You see how both men learn from each other, making their relationship feel genuine. The sword itself serves as a great plot device, symbolizing their bond and the choices they both make.

The book blends romance and adventure in a way that kept me engaged. If you're into stories about love bridging across time, this one's worth checking out. The dynamic between the characters makes it a wonderful read.
