MM Romance

He came for the burger but stayed for the bartender.

Finn O'Brien had two skills: making a killer cocktail and spectacularly bad decisions. So naturally, he quit his soul-crushing job to co-own a gay sports bar in Tampa with his best friend. What could go wrong?

Well, forgetting to actually promote their grand opening, for one.

On the bright side, while Finn stood behind a bar with no customers and a growing pile of bills, a rumpled blonde in a crooked tie shuffled in and parked himself in a corner booth.

Chase didn't talk much.

Finn talked too much.

Chase was buttoned-up, guarded, and allergic to fun.

Finn was a mess of freckles and bad jokes who didn't know when to quit.

They had absolutely nothing in common—except the way Chase kept showing up, night after night, claiming he was just there for the burger.

Between a meddling best friend, a kitchen staff placing bets on when Finn would finally make a move, and the world's slowest-burning attraction, Finn had a bar to save, a found family to build, and a grumpy lawyer to crack—one colorfully named drink at a time.

Popped! is the first book in the Barbacks series—a slow-burn rom-com for anyone who's ever stress-organized a spreadsheet, crushed on someone completely unavailable, or wondered if it's weird to learn a regular's order by heart.

(It was weird. Finn knew it was weird.)

If you like the swoony slow burns of Riley Hart, the sharp banter of Eden Finley, or the found-family warmth of a TJ Klune novel—but with a lot more whiskey, you'll love this series.

Popped!

Popped! MM romance with a bartender who makes killer cocktails and spectacularly bad decisions #MMRomanceSome places aren’t meant to succeed.

Not on paper. Not on spreadsheets. Not in the careful projections of people who’ve never risked everything on a feeling.

A half-forgotten bar in Tampa.
A grand opening no one remembers.
A stack of bills growing faster than the customer list.

Finn O’Brien built something anyway.

Not because it made sense—but because he needed it to.

Because sometimes survival looks like bad decisions dressed up as courage.
Sometimes it looks like pouring another drink and pretending you’re not counting the minutes between customers.

And then, in walks Mr. Buttoned-Up.

Not loud. Not flashy. Not promising anything at all.

Just… there.

Chase doesn’t belong to the noise.
He doesn’t flirt. Doesn’t linger. Doesn’t give anything away.

He sits. Orders food. Leaves.

And then he comes back.

Again.
And again.

The kind of presence that doesn’t demand attention—but reshapes the room anyway.

This is where Popped! lives.

Not in grand declarations or instant sparks, but in the slow accumulation of moments that refuse to stay small.

A joke that lands softer the second time.
A glance held a fraction too long.
A drink remembered without asking.

It’s the kind of connection that builds quietly—until it doesn’t feel quiet anymore.

Around them, life keeps moving.

A best friend who refuses to let things fall apart.
A kitchen that turns everything into a game.
A found family forming whether Finn planned for it or not.

Because even when the bar is empty, it isn’t empty for long.

Not when people start choosing to stay.

And that’s the question at the heart of this story:

What happens when someone keeps showing up—
not because they have to…
but because they want to?

Not for the burger.
Not really.

For the space.
For the presence.
For the person behind the bar who talks too much and still hasn’t figured out when to stop.

Popped! is a slow-burn MM romance about opposites that don’t quite fit—and somehow become something that does.

About building something fragile and letting people see it anyway.

About the quiet, stubborn kind of love that doesn’t arrive all at once—

but stays.

Hang out with the guys

Support Indie Authors: Invest in the futures you want to read

Science fiction romance has always asked readers to think bigger.

Beyond planets.
Beyond lifetimes.
Beyond the limits of a single world.

It dares to imagine empires rising and falling, immortals learning humility, warriors choosing love over conquest, and hearts that endure long after war should have ended them.

And indie authors are often the ones bold enough to build those worlds.

When you support indies like sci-fi romance authors, you’re not just purchasing a book. You’re backing vision. You’re investing in creators who construct entire star systems from nothing—who design cultures, power structures, languages, rituals, and moral codes—then ask one dangerous question:

What happens when love enters the equation?

Indie authors publish thriving long-arc universes.
Where legacy matters.
Where power has consequence.
Where surrender is not weakness, but transformation.

These stories don’t always follow market formulas. They blend genres. They stretch timelines across generations. They allow heroes to be flawed, strategic, wounded, sovereign, relentless—or unexpectedly tender.

They trust readers to think.

Supporting indie authors means choosing imagination over predictability. It means sustaining stories that may not fit neatly into trend cycles but linger long after the final page. It means encouraging writers to take narrative risks—exploring political intrigue alongside soul bonds, immortal rulers grappling with redemption, alien alliances shaped by trust instead of domination.

Science fiction romance at its best is not spectacle for spectacle’s sake.

It is exploration.
Of identity.
Of loyalty.
Of autonomy.
Of the cost of power.
Of what it truly means to claim forever.

From February 28 through March 30, this event highlights independent sci-fi romance authors who are building bold futures—one story at a time.

When you choose indie this month, you are doing more than adding to your reading list.

You are shaping the genre’s evolution.

You are telling authors:
Build the empire.
Ask the hard questions.
Let love challenge authority.
Trust your readers.

Because the future of science fiction romance doesn’t belong to algorithms.

It belongs to readers who are willing to step through the starport and discover something new.

Support indie authors.
Support enduring worlds.
Support the stories that dare to imagine forever.

Daughter of Orpheus: A haunting mythology novel of Greek gods, guilt, and destiny

A haunting mythology novel of Greek gods, guilt, and destiny

Daughter of Orpheus by HC Southwark

In this haunting mythology novel, Isme made a single mistake.

When she saw the dead bodies, she knew that she would pay the price.

She lived secretly on an island with her father, preparing for the end of the world under his strict guidance. An apocalypse was a big deal, of course, but it had happened before: everyone knew that the gods had destroyed and rebuilt the world several times...

So when she sang to the sea, it was just a momentary flash of teenage rebellion. Hardly anything to be concerned about.

But now she has blood on her hands.

Driven by blood guilt, Isme must leave the safety of her island and travel to the other side of Greece. Only the famed Oracle of Delphi can tell her how to escape the fate of a murderer.

But highway robbers are the least of Isme's worries. She lives in a world of dangerous spirits and quarrelsome gods, who are more likely to carry her off than help her. Worst of all is the strange invisible monster that stalks her every move.

Isme knows she is risking everything.

But time is running out…

A haunting mythology novel of Greek gods, guilt, and destiny

A haunting mythology novel of Greek gods, guilt, and destinyWhen the gods are watching, even one mistake echoes forever

There are stories where fate arrives like a storm—loud, undeniable, impossible to escape.

And then there are stories where it begins with something quieter.

A single choice.
A fleeting act of defiance.
A moment that doesn’t feel like it should matter…until it does.

Daughter of Orpheus by HC Southwark opens in that fragile space between innocence and consequence. Isme has grown up in isolation, raised by a father who prepares her not for a life, but for an ending. The world, after all, has been destroyed before. The gods are not distant myths—they are forces that reset everything when they choose.

So when Isme sings to the sea, it doesn’t feel like rebellion with consequences. It feels human. Small. Understandable.

But mythology has never been kind to small mistakes.

What follows is not simply a journey across ancient Greece—it’s a descent into the weight of guilt, where every step forward carries the question: What if this cannot be undone?

Driven by blood guilt and the need for answers, Isme leaves the only safety she has ever known. Her destination is the Oracle of Delphi, a place where truth is spoken—but never freely, and never without cost.

Along the way, the world unfolds in layers that feel both mythic and immediate. This is not a distant, romanticized Greece. It is alive with restless spirits, dangerous roads, and gods who do not intervene out of kindness. They watch. They bargain. They take.

And sometimes—they punish.

What makes this story linger is not just the mythology, but the emotional undercurrent beneath it. Isme is not a chosen hero or a destined savior. She is a girl trying to understand the consequences of something she cannot take back. Her journey is shaped as much by fear and uncertainty as it is by courage.

There is also something deeply compelling about the unseen threat that follows her—the invisible presence that turns even moments of stillness into tension. It transforms the journey into something more than physical travel. It becomes a reckoning.

For readers drawn to mythology, this story offers more than familiar names and legends. It asks what it means to live in a world where the gods are real—and where their attention is not a blessing.

It asks what happens when guilt becomes the path forward.

And most of all, it lingers on a question mythology has always asked, but rarely answered gently:

If the gods are watching…what do they see when they look at you?

The Vine Once Twisted, a powerful origin story of regret, addiction, and redemption

The Vine Once Twisted, a powerful origin story of regret, addiction, and redemption

The Vine Once Twisted by RM Demeester

Gayle Philips thought running was the answer.

She didn’t want to marry James Lawson, the son of the town’s most influential family, so she fled with Jed, the Lawsons’ loyal farmhand.

But freedom came at a steep price. Gayle lost her family. She lost her respect. She broke promises to herself, to her daughter, to anyone who had ever dared to love her.

Now the past is clawing its way back: the regret, the decades of addiction, the lies, the secrets. They are all coming for her. The question is, can Gayle finally face them? Or will she stand by and watch the last of her world burn?

This is a bonus origin story from The Girl Once Known trilogy. It can be enjoyed as a standalone and contains minimal spoilers for the main series.

Powerful Origin Story

The Vine Once Twisted, a powerful origin story of regret, addiction, and redemptionThere are stories that unfold quietly, and then there are stories that feel like they’ve been waiting—patient, relentless—until the moment you’re ready to face them.

The Vine Once Twisted by RM Demeester is the kind of story that doesn’t simply ask what happened. It asks why we make the choices we do and what remains after those choices echo across a lifetime.

Gayle Philips once believed that escape was the same as freedom. Faced with a future she didn’t want, she ran—from expectation, from obligation, from a life that felt already decided. In doing so, she chose uncertainty over certainty, passion over stability, and in many ways, self-preservation over everything else.

But stories like this don’t end at the moment of escape.

They begin there.

Years later, the cost of those decisions has settled into every corner of Gayle’s life. Loss has layered itself quietly but persistently. Family, trust, identity. What remains is not just memory, but consequence. The kind that doesn’t fade simply because time has passed.

What makes this story linger is its refusal to simplify. There are no easy villains here, no clean lines between right and wrong. Instead, Demeester leans into the uncomfortable truth that people can be both deeply flawed and deeply human at the same time.

In The Vine Once Twisted, Gayle is not a character built for easy sympathy but she is one built for understanding.

And that’s where the story finds its strength.

Addiction, regret, and the slow unraveling of carefully buried truths create a narrative that feels both intimate and unflinching. The past doesn’t just return—it insists on being seen. And as it does, the question becomes less about what Gayle has lost, and more about whether she is willing to face what remains.

Because sometimes the hardest journey isn’t running away.

It’s turning back.

As part of The Girl Once Known trilogy, this origin story offers a deeper look into the forces that shaped everything that follows, but it stands firmly on its own. It’s a complete emotional arc, one that invites reflection long after the final page.

For readers drawn to stories of consequence, resilience, and the complicated terrain of human choice, The Vine Once Twisted offers something lasting:

Not just a story of what was broken—but of what might still be faced.

Unholy Inferno an MM Romance by JB Warrick #MMromance #PNR

Unholy Inferno by JB Warrick #MMromance #PNR

Unholy Inferno by JB Warrick #MMromance #PNRTo avenge his father's death, Tristan would make a pact with the devil. But this devil is a hellhound, and he wants more than Tristan is willing to give...

Tristan has moved on from his father's death. Then his father's killers show up at Tristan's bar making threats and demands.

Now the only man who can help him is the intimidating, infuriating Ammon Strong.

Tristan tries to resist. But when Ammon reveals his true nature, Tristan finds he can't escape the hellhound's need to dominate and own him.

Ammon has been on Earth for millennia, and he's never met anyone like Tristan Ward. Feisty. Beautiful.

His mate.

Hellhounds aren't supposed to have mates. Now that Ammon has found him, he's never letting go. No matter what the little human wants.

REVIEW

When the Devil Isn't the Villain—He's the One Who Claims You

Some love stories begin with a meet-cute.

Others begin with a threat.

If you're the kind of MM romance reader who craves dominance wrapped in destiny, danger braided with devotion, and a love that refuses to loosen its grip… Hellhounds of Purgatory by JB Warrick belongs on your radar this week.

Tristan Ward thought he'd buried the past along with his father. He rebuilt his life. Opened a bar. Moved forward.

Then the men responsible for his father's death walk back into his world.

Suddenly, survival isn't about healing. It's about power.

And the only man powerful enough to stand against that threat is Ammon Strong.

Intimidating. Infuriating. Unyielding.

Not a man at all—but a hellhound who has walked the earth for millennia.

Here's where the story shifts from revenge tale to something deeper.

Because Ammon doesn't just want to protect Tristan.

He wants to claim him.

The psychological core of this MM Romance isn't simply dominance. It's inevitability. The pull of something ancient recognizing what it was never meant to have.

Hellhounds aren't supposed to have mates.

But Ammon has found his.

And that changes everything.

For readers who love:

  • MM Romance with a twist
  • Possessive supernatural heroes
  • Feisty humans who push back
  • Reluctant attraction that burns into surrender
  • Power dynamics with emotional stakes

This story delivers tension on multiple levels. External danger from men who think Tristan is still vulnerable. Internal resistance as Tristan refuses to yield to a being who sees him as destiny.

The magic here isn't just paranormal.

It's the collision between control and choice.

Ammon has never met anyone like Tristan. Tristan has never met anyone who refuses to let him walk away.

The result is an MM romance built on heat, confrontation, and a bond that defies the rules of its own mythology.

If you're drawn to stories where the supernatural alpha isn't softened—but transformed by finding the one person who matters—this is your next read.

Fallen by Patrick Abbott Military Sci-Fi #StoriesThatLinger #MilitarySciFi

Fallen by Patrick Abbott Military Sci-Fi #StoriesThatLinger #MilitarySciFi

Brendan Murphy nearly died fighting for his country.

Now he's trying to stop a war.

Five years ago, alien ship appeared in low orbit all around the world and stayed there, waiting. A highly advanced alien race known as the Sabia lingered with little contact with humanity, and the worlds' governments have been eager for answers – and access- for years.

When combat veteran Brendan Murphy is wounded stopping an attack on a Sabia diplomat, he finds himself whisked aboard one of their ships and given medical aid. This rare opportunity finds him walking a tenuous line between burgeoning friendships and secret agenda that will test his loyalties and sanity in ways he can't begin to imagine.

REVIEW

Fallen by Patrick Abbott Military Sci-Fi #StoriesThatLinger #MilitarySciFiSome science fiction explodes.

Some science fiction lingers.

And then there are stories like Fallen—the kind that begin with a battlefield wound and quietly unfold into something far more dangerous: trust.

Five years ago, alien ships appeared in low orbit around Earth and simply... stayed. No invasion. No conquest. No explanation. The Sabia hover above humanity like a question no one knows how to answer.

Governments want access. Power. Leverage.

Brendan Murphy just wants peace.

A decorated combat veteran nearly killed in action, Brendan is wounded protecting a Sabia diplomat from attack. Instead of dying, he wakes aboard an alien vessel—healed, watched, and suddenly positioned at the center of something far larger than himself.

This is where Fallen becomes more than military sci-fi.

It becomes intimate.

Intellection Forward Marketing asks a simple question: what core drive does a story satisfy?

For science fiction readers, the answer often lives at the intersection of Loyalty and Meaning.

Brendan is not a reckless hero chasing spectacle. He's a soldier navigating allegiance—to his country, to his species, and to individuals he is only beginning to understand. The Sabia are not faceless invaders. They are layered, restrained, operating on motives humanity may not yet be equipped to interpret.

The tension isn't just political.

It's relational.

What happens when connection forms across species lines?
What does loyalty look like when truth is fragmented?
How do you choose peace when everyone around you is preparing for war?

Fallen respects the reader's intelligence. It doesn't shout its themes. It trusts you to sit in the uncertainty. The alien presence is not merely backdrop—it's a catalyst for emotional and ethical reckoning.

For readers who crave:

  • Cross-cultural tension
  • Military realism grounded in character
  • Relationships shaped by trust under pressure
  • Big-idea military sci-fi with personal stakes

This book is worth your attention.

Because sometimes the most dangerous battlefield isn't fought with weapons.

It's fought with loyalty.

If you enjoy military sci-fi that lingers—stories where the alien unknown becomes a mirror for human choice—Fallen offers that quiet, compelling "what if" that stays with you long after the last page.

Explore the book and discover a story where survival is only the beginning.

#Review: Candy Hearts by Erin McLellan #MMRomance #GayRomance #BookTalk

Mechanic Benji Holiday is so over Valentine's Day and men who don't get him. A weekend getaway with friends to escape the holiday hubbub is exactly what he needs. But William O'Dare—a stern and silent nightclub owner with "Be My Valentine" practically stamped on his forehead—throws a wrench into Benji's plans.

#Review: Candy Hearts by Erin McLellan #MMRomance #GayRomance #BookTalkWilliam has spent years focused on his career, and it has cost him friendships and love. Inexperienced in the business of romance, he's on the hunt for the perfect partner, and he's armed with specific criteria to guide him. But William didn't expect a hunky mechanic wrapped in satin and lace to show up on his doorstep.

Unable to resist their attraction, Benji and William agree to be secret fake valentines for the weekend, but secrets have a way of getting out. William gets struck by Cupid's arrow, and as the weekend winds down, he doesn't want fake or secret. He wants Benji to be his valentine for real and for keeps.

Candy Hearts is a male/male Valentine's Day novella featuring a house party power outage, meddling friends and siblings, naughty lingerie and naughtier toys, homemade Valentine's Day cards, and a happily ever after.

Candy Hearts

This book is a delightful read that captures the ups and downs of unexpected romance. The story follows Benji, a mechanic who is trying to escape the Valentine's Day chaos. His plans take an unexpected turn when he bumps into William, a no-nonsense nightclub owner who seems a bit too serious for his own good.

The chemistry between Benji and William is a blast to watch unfold. What starts as a secret arrangement goes deeper, and it was fun to watch how they challenged each other. Benji's boisterous personality contrasts with William's more reserved one, and the mix of humor and sweetness kept the story engaging.

The secondary characters offered playful meddling and support for Benji and William. The party scenes bring an atmosphere of joy, and even the power outage becomes a pivotal moment that brings everyone closer. Their adventures in this brief escape from reality make for a light yet satisfying read.

It's nice to see a love story that doesn't take itself too seriously while still delivering genuine emotion. I read this in one sitting. Enjoyable and re-readable.

The Merged is a multi-timeline cosmic horror fantasy that explores shattered realities, threads fractured identities, and evokes existential dread, all while unmasking the illusion of choice. One man, three realities, one fate. This is where the end begins another war, the stepping stone into a cosmic tale of survival, identity, and redemption.

For fans of David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas and NK Jemisin's Fifth Season, dive into The Merged and witness a fractured tale across multiple timelines.
