Last year, days after Rocktoberfest, the band Damaged Saints were onstage when a pyro accident burned their drummer and seriously injured their singer when flying bits of burning shrapnel hit him, damaging his voice and leaving him unable to continue as the band's singer.

With less than a month to draw some hidden moves out of him, the band will use any means at their disposal and maybe even discover if Jagger is the perfect fit for them off the stage too.

This book brings together a solid mix of music, humor, and romance. The story follows a band trying to regroup after a devastating accident leaves them needing a new singer. The dynamic between the characters is fun, especially as they embark on this challenge with their new frontman, Jagger. He's not just easy on the eyes; his charisma adds a great energy to the group.

Watching the band adapt to Jagger's past and help him step up to the big leagues is enjoyable. Banter and chemistry fill the guys' interactions. Dorine does a great job of portraying the highs and lows of band life while layering in the romance. As a fan of rock star romances, I enjoyed the music and interaction. It's a light read that hits all the right notes.

A Man's Sword

This book by WM Kirkland offers an interesting mix of time travel and romance that feels fresh. The characters are relatable, especially Gabriel. He's a regular guy who finds himself in a wild situation when Marius appears out of nowhere. Marius is intriguing, full of life and shaped by his past in a way that draws you in. Their chemistry and connection grow as they navigate this crazy turn of events.

The banter between Gabriel and Marius lightens up the mood, making the story fun to read. The pacing keeps things moving without feeling rushed. The historical bits are woven in nicely, adding layers to Marius's character and giving readers a taste of his world. You see how both men learn from each other, making their relationship feel genuine. The sword itself serves as a great plot device, symbolizing their bond and the choices they both make.

The book blends romance and adventure in a way that kept me engaged. If you're into stories about love bridging across time, this one's worth checking out. The dynamic between the characters makes it a wonderful read.

Charlie adores performing in drag. It allows him to indulge in his love of cross-dressing while earning some extra cash. Fooling around with a mostly straight guy in secret seems like a fun diversion, and gives him the chance to explore his feminine side. He feels safe wearing the mask of his confident alter ego, because the real Charlie is hidden from view.

When Wicksy sees more of the guy behind the make-up and glitter, his attraction to Charlie persists, and he realises he's bisexual. In turn, Charlie begins to understand and accept his gender fluidity. As their mutual journey of self-discovery brings them closer, the secrecy becomes increasingly hard to deal with. If they're going to have a future together, they both need to find the courage to show people who they really are.

Although this book is part of a linked series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

Mud & Lace

This is a sweet, easy read that explores attraction and identity. Wicksy, a guy who's always been into women, finds himself drawn to Charlie, a drag queen with a playful and bold vibe. Their connection feels natural and honest, with both learning more about themselves as they spend time together. Mud & Lace handles the ideas of sexuality and gender in a way that feels light but meaningful. The writing style keeps things flowing, making it a nice pick for readers who want a fun romance with some thoughtful moments. The characters' back-and-forth banter adds to the easygoing energy throughout. Recommended.
