The Englor Affair: Sci-Regency Two #MMRomance #SciFi #Regency

If you like male/male, gay romance, science fiction, or regency romance, this is the book for you. I happen to love all these genres, and finding them in one book was a definite treat.

The Englor Affair: Sci-Regency Two #MMRomance #SciFi #RegencyEnglor is a world in the far future, but the society is similar to Regency England. In this case, the king and his consort are both male, and one of their sons falls for a ship's captain who is there to help them with a mysterious case. When I heard about the mixed genres in this book I was curious how she would ever pull it off.

Before the end of the first chapter I had not only "bought in" to the concept, but was also completely hooked on the story.

JL Langley write with passion, and completely captivates the reader. She creates powerful characters, uses intense emotion, is highly visual in her descriptions, and pulls the reader straight into the scene.

After reading this book, I longed to go back and find out what happens to the prince, how some of the other characters fare, and read more about this fascinating universe. JL is on my must-buy list.

The Englor Affair

Anxious to escape the confines of Regelence society, if only for a little while, Prince Payton Townsend poses as an admiral's aide to further investigate a dangerous conspiracy.

Payton plans only to use his computer skills to help navigate the tangled web of mystery and deceit on planet Englor, then return home, but he finds himself drawn to the charismatic Colonel Simon Hollister.

Simon, however, is no mere soldier—he is heir to the throne of Englor, and his life is meticulously planned to include a bride and heir.

Unlike Regelence, the Regency society on Englor disapproves of same-sex relationships, and Payton and Simon's attraction plays out in a daring secret affair, one Simon never expected would grow into love.

Risking scandal and certain ruin if they are discovered, Payton and Simon uncover more about a common enemy and a deadly plot that imperils both their worlds. But in this game of interplanetary intrigue, love might be the ultimate casualty….

I can't let him go, though.

Whit by Cora Rose

Cora Rose's romance novel Whit is an exploration of unexpected love. The story straddles the line between friendship and romance as Caleb finds himself drawn to his enigmatic roommate, Whit. The author reveals Caleb's tension, confusion, and longing with clever first person narrative. You "get" Caleb right away. And the fact that Caleb doesn't think Caleb is worth all that much.

Whit proves him wrong. This story of straight identities confronting unexpected feelings really captured Caleb's internal struggles.

Rose's writing is both poignant and relatable, making readers laugh out loud one moment and tugging at their heartstrings the next. The character development is remarkable; Whit's intricate layers unveil gradually, keeping readers invested and curious about his past. The balance between vulnerability and strength enriches both main characters, drawing you deeper into their growing relationship.

Characters from Rose's previous works added depth and continuity. Whit not only delivers an emotional rollercoaster but also offers a satisfying blend of humor and heart. As Caleb deals with the fear of heartbreak, readers will root for their love story, making Whit a must-read for fans of gay romance.
