#Review: Roman by Grae Bryan #MMromance #VampiresDanny Kingman is used to fending for himself. Working nonstop as an ER nurse to pay for his mother's care, he's been putting his own life on hold since he can remember. But when an unbelievably hot, strangely intense man saves him from a mugging, Danny has a feeling everything is about to change. Especially when that man suddenly pops out a pair of fangs.

Roman Mourier has been wandering aimlessly for decades, waiting for the inevitable day when the last of his humanity leaves him, and the demon inside him takes permanent control. He doesn't believe in fated mates, or the myth that there's a soul out there that could tether his humanity to him. Until he feels a strange pull to the lovely young man at the hospital, and hope stirs in him for the first time.

But Roman has demons other than just the one inside him. Is he strong enough to keep Danny safe from the past that haunts him? He knows one thing for sure: now that he's found his mate, he will do anything to keep him.

Roman

Roman by Grae Bryan hits a sweet spot in gay romance. Danny's dedication to his mom and tough life adds a solid layer to his character. Roman, on the other hand, brings a darker vibe, but there's more to him than just the surface.

Their connection grows naturally, with the fated-mates aspect adding urgency to their relationship. The mix of supernatural elements with everyday struggles gives the book a unique twist, and the characters' challenges make for a believable story. A smooth blend of emotion and action, delivering a story with an edge that's also easy to read.

Roman is a heated, fated-mates MM paranormal romance with an HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains insta-obsession, a cinnamon roll of an ER nurse, and the possessive vampire determined to keep him. It also contains steamy scenes between two men, and the moderate violence (and mentions of blood) that one might expect from a vampire romance. Not suitable for readers under 18.

#Review: Gabriel's Storm by Sue Brown #MMRomance #SuspenseA storm shattered Gabriel's heart. A second storm offers him another chance. Will he ever love again or is he too broken to accept Sam's love?

As he does every day, Gabriel stands vigil on the cliffs, lost in the memories of his dead family. But as another storm rolls in, Gabriel sees a boat sinking beneath the huge waves. Will he get to the boat in time to save anyone trapped?

Sam wakes to discover he's been rescued from a storm by a brooding, handsome stranger with a tragic past. He remembers nothing except the fear that stalks him every time he closes his eyes.

Gabriel finds himself unwillingly attracted to his houseguest, and Sam just wants to take away the pain in the eyes of the lonely widower.

But first they need to find out who Sam is and why he's having nightmares. Can Gabriel and Sam save each other and find a second chance at love?

A heartwarming tale of love and healing with a taste of suspense.

Gabriel's Storm

This book pulled me in with a mix of romance and a bit of mystery. The way Sam and Gabriel come together feels natural, not forced, and their growing connection unfolds in a way that kept me interested. The setting made the entire story realistic. Sam and Gabriel were relatable, especially as they worked through individual struggles and fears.

There’s enough tension to keep the pages turning without overshadowing the romance. The pacing and story strike a good balance between emotional and lighter scenes. This story felt sincere and was easy to get lost in. If you’re into gay romance with a hint of suspense and a focus on healing, give this one a shot.

#Review: Fae for Pay by Meghan Maslow #MMRomance #UrbanFantasy #Shifters

#Review: Fae for Pay by Meghan Maslow #MMRomance #UrbanFantasy #Shifters

#Review: Fae for Pay by Meghan Maslow #MMRomance #UrbanFantasy #ShiftersA hot AF wolf who could make me howl all night long. A persistent gold coin with dubious intentions. And a magical whammy no one saw coming.

Hello, gentle reader (or online stalker). My name is Teremie—yes, it's a T, not a J, thanks for asking—Summers. Maybe you've seen me on Only Fae. I play the sexpot elf of your dreams.

Through a bizarre turn of events, I end up cast as an elf in an upcoming epic fantasy film—even though my acting skills are mainly of the "fae for pay" online variety.

My co-star is the once-cute-teen-star, turned smokin' hot, all grown up, wolf-shifter Kade Savage. He's gentle, honorable, and he doesn't care about my past mistakes.

All great, right? Well...there are a couple of teensy tiny roadblocks to my happily-ever-after. See, wolves don't date non-wolves. It's a thing. And, oh, yeah, he's straight. Which is fine. I'm perfectly okay with it. My track record is so poor that I might as well be running backward. So, it's a little crush. What's the harm?

But before long I catch him giving me big-bad-wolf eyes when he thinks I'm not looking. His low, growly voice makes my heart beat a little faster and sends tingles down my spine and on a one-way trip to my nether regions. Just when the UST between us is about to erupt, we end up in a fantasy scene so real it would make Peter Jackson jealous. What in the Lord of the Rings alternate dimension is this?! We have to rely on each other—and a contrary magical coin—to show us that "home" isn't a place so much as where the heart is.

Fae for Pay

Fae for Pay by Meghan Maslow is a fun and refreshing read that doesn't take itself too seriously. Teremie's voice feels real and easy to connect with, and the mix of fantasy with a modern setting keeps things interesting.

Kade's character adds a superb contrast, and their chemistry sneaks up on you in a way that feels natural. The story has its share of sweet and awkward moments that make the characters feel genuine, not just perfect heroes.

That love can come from unexpected places comes across without being overly cheesy or predictable. Plus, the fantasy elements add just the right amount of magic to spice things up without overwhelming the romance.

I loved this book. It blends humor, fantasy, and romance in a way that's easy to enjoy. This is one gay romance with a delightfully playful twist.

Fae for Pay is a part of the multi-author series, Fortune Favors the Fae. From spicy to sweet, zany romps to epic adventures, there's something for everyone in this mystical series. Discover destiny and true love, and follow the coin on its fickle journey to the next world and a new magical adventure.

#Review: The Wolf's (Un)Lucky Fae by Michele Notaro #MMRomance #UrbanFantasyCall it fate, call it luck, but when a powerful wolf shifter walks into my life, everything changes.

Bel

I've made some stupid decisions in my life, and one in particular keeps coming back to haunt me. When I keep running into a handsome stranger, I know I should push him away, if only to keep him safe from my mess, keep him safe from me. But something inside of me—my heart, my magic, or my soul—keeps pushing me toward him, offering to make all my secret dreams come true. And I don't know how to stay away.

Remi

When I travel across the world to open a new business—and get away from my overbearing family—the last thing I ever expect is to find the most beautiful and alluring fae I've ever met. I'm drawn to him, and I'm pretty sure if he lets his guard down, he'll admit he's drawn to me too. All I want to do is pull Bel into my arms and protect him from whatever he's hiding. But he's skittish and suspicious, and I just want to prove to him that he can trust me.

Fate, and a bit of luck, brought us together, and I'm not going to let it or anything else tear us apart.

The Wolf's (Un)Lucky Fae

This was such a fun read! The mix of wolf shifters and fae, and the way Bel and Remi interact, was easy to get into right from the start. Bel's struggles and the caution he carries adds layers to his character, and Remi's determination to connect felt solid. The story flows without dragging, so it was easy to pick up and hard to put down. The chemistry between these two is hot, and the pace kept the story moving. Light, but with a bit of heart, and some wonderful paranormal / fantasy elements. Recommended.

The Wolf's (Un)Lucky Fae is a part of the multi-author series, Fortune Favors the Fae. This is book 2. I'm reviewing book 8, Fae for Pay, tomorrow. What can I say? I'm a sucker for books with blond guys on the cover.

From spicy to sweet, zany romps to epic adventures, there's something for everyone in this mystical series. Discover destiny and true love and follow the coin on its fickle journey to the next world and a new magical adventure.

#Review: Damaged Goods by Susan Mac Nicol #MMRomance #HotRead

#Review: Damaged Goods by Susan Mac Nicol #MMRomance #HotRead

#Review: Damaged Goods by Susan Mac Nicol #MMRomance #HotReadTouched by tragedy, love is an elusive dream never to be realised by eighteen-year-old Jax Grady—until he discovers his secret admirer and receives the sweetest gift he could ever desire.

Tragedy and horror shaped Jackson Grady's life, leaving him orphaned and scarred. At eighteen he's ready to claim his future, but who could love his disfigured face and damaged soul? Definitely not a big, burly, beautiful Irish Traveller who is entirely the stuff of dreams.

Dare Rowan didn't mean to become obsessed with the blue-eyed man he first saw across a field, but that porcelain skin and innocent air demanded another meeting. Jax has the face of a wounded angel, and the rest of the young man is as heart-breakingly perfect.

Jax is beautiful in every way and teaching him about love and life will be something Dare will embrace. Like unwrapping and savouring the candy at the shop where he works, Dare will show this young man everything Jax desired but never thought he'd have, and take Jax to new highs while he holds him through the lows. Between them, they’ll find out just how sweet life can be.

Damaged Goods

This novel by Susan Mac Nicol was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed spending time with Jax and Dare as their relationship grew. Jax, dealing with past trauma and scars, was likable and relatable without being overly dramatic. Dare also came across as a caring guy who saw beyond looks and helped Jax heal emotionally.

The chemistry between these two men felt realistic and sweet, and it was refreshing to read a romance that stayed down-to-earth. The author tackled sensitive topics carefully, never making the story feel too heavy or sad. I particularly liked how gentle and supportive Dare was throughout.

Damaged Goods left me feeling satisfied, optimistic, and hopeful. It was an enjoyable read that made me smile. If you like thoughtful and tender romances mixed with just the right changes of mood, give this book a try.

#Review: Royals: A Gay M/M Bodyguard Romance by JV Speyer #MMRomance #Thriller #BodyguardRomance

Two uncles from vastly different worlds. One orphaned child. Will a conspiracy that bridges an ocean somehow build a family, or will state secrets keep Eric and Dan apart forever?

#Review: Royals: A Gay M/M Bodyguard Romance by JV Speyer #MMRomance #Thriller #BodyguardRomanceEric is a genius. He's a professor of environmental studies at an Ivy League university, an inventor, and one of the most respected scientists in his field. He doesn't think about his birth family much, and the feeling is mutual – or he thinks it is, until a call from a local hospital throws his carefully ordered world into chaos.

Dan has seen and done a lot in his time as an Army Ranger. Thrown into civilian life by an injury, he's happy to work for Five Star Security doing what he does best – until he gets a call from his hometown with devastating news.

His beloved older brother, Ben, has been killed in a car accident, along with his bride, Selene. Custody of their amazing four-year-old daughter has been left not to Dan, with whom all three were close, but to Selene's younger half-brother, Eric – a man Dan has never met and who didn't bother showing up for the wedding. Dan is devastated. Finding Eric to be handsome and kind, if reserved, doesn't help. Selene was wonderful, but her whole family was a pack of vipers. Eric can't be any different, can he?

It doesn't take long for Dan's boss to figure out why Selene and Ben would leave Ada in Eric's custody. Selene was a member of the royal family of Corvia, and Eric has managed to avoid the spotlight for the past decade and more. As the investigation into the car wreck shows it was no accident, Dan and Eric must join forces to keep their shared niece safe. But can they keep their hearts safe from each other – especially when old secrets come to light that threaten their newfound love?

Royals is the second book in the Bodyguards M/M contemporary romance series. If you like tortured heroes, intense predicaments, and steamy affairs, then this one is for you!

Royals: A Gay M/M Bodyguard Romance

Royals weaves the lives of two characters amidst a backdrop of mystery and family dynamics. Eric, an environmental studies professor, finds his world turned upside down when thrust into a guardianship role after a tragedy. This opens a door to an unfamiliar realm, forcing Eric to confront his past and the family he thought he had left behind.

Dan, a former Army Ranger dealing with loss, brings emotional depth to the story. His initial skepticism towards Eric is understandable, but their shared love for Dan's niece Ada fosters a unique bond that evolves throughout the story. The chemistry between Eric and Dan reveals each man's vulnerability as they navigate through grief, loyalty, and trust.

The intrigue surrounding Selene's death adds a new layer to the plot, creating suspense, and the pacing contributes to character development alongside the unfolding mystery. The blend of romance and thriller elements makes Royals an engaging read. This book explores the fabric of family and the transformative power of love, and is a worthwhile addition to the genre.

I enjoyed seeing this couple work together to create a safe space for their niece. The story had just the right amount of sizzle. Recommended if you like MM romance.

#Review: The Earl's Scandalous Bargain by Merry Farmer #MMRomance #GayRomance #Historical

Two men caught between duty and their scandalous passion for each other…

Lord Frederick Herrington is lost. He was lost in the sea of his friends at university, lost in the orders he followed as an officer in the army, most certainly lost where anything romantic is concerned, and beyond lost when it comes to saving his estate from the ruin his father made of it. As far as he sees it, the one thing he absolutely must do is to find a way to restore the fortunes of his earldom and to keep the property from being sold off. But how?

Lord Reese Howsden, Marquess of Albany, is a man of power with confidence to spare. His estate and investments are thriving, his adored son has secured the continuation of the family line, and he knows who and what he is. He knows what he wants as well, and what he wants is Freddy. With an esteemed title and close friends to protect him from scorn and scandal, all he needs to do is open Freddy's eyes to the love that has been simmering under the surface between them for years. But when?

When Reese hosts an American cattle baron and his "dollar princess" daughter for a house party that mixes business and pleasure, he inadvertently provides Freddy with a way to boost his fortunes. But will the solution be worse than the problem, especially as Freddy's eyes are open to the truth about what his heart really wants? Or will he discover an alternative path and a love worth giving everything up for?

Please Be Advised: Steam level – very spicy! And yes, this is an m/m romance, so if that's not your thing, feel free to pass on this one.

The Earl's Scandalous Bargain

This book offers an enjoyable mix of historical charm and romance that feels both fresh and relatable. The characters are easy to connect with; Lord Frederick Herrington's struggles with duty and self-discovery tug at the heart, while Lord Reese Howsden brings a powerful presence, grounded and determined. The dynamic between them balances tension and chemistry, creating genuine and warm moments.

The setting and details are well-crafted, immersing you in the time period without overwhelming details. There's a consistent flow to the story that keeps things moving, without distractions. Both men face their own challenges, but their connection grows and pushes them forward. The side characters add depth, enhancing the main plot and giving the story a fuller feel.

What I appreciated most was the way the romance unfolds. It doesn't rush; instead, it allows for a gradual realization that makes the eventual choices they face meaningful. The exploration of love set against duty makes the ending satisfying. The book is a lovely escape, rich with emotions and possibilities.

#Review: Scrum by PD Singer #MMRomance #SportsRomance

#Review: Scrum by PD Singer #MMRomance #SportsRomance

#Review: Scrum by PD Singer #MMRomance #SportsRomanceOne look at the Canadian rugby star now playing on his local team turns Robin Isley into a super-fan. He’ll attend practices, cheer every game, and bleed with every tackle, but he won’t come close enough to get an autograph or say a few words.

Yves Dubois' team runs faster, passes better, and scrums harder when Robin watches: they’ve been winning steadily. Yves has a blinding smile for Robin after practices, but never stops to talk.

Robin needs to know if Yves’ grin is only joy in the game. Finding out will be Robin’s birthday milestone, but first he needs to give himself the gift of courage.

Scrum

I don't usually read sports romances, but this one caught my eye. I read it in one sitting. The characters were fun to read about, and there was a fun, unexpected twist at the end. I knew nothing about rugby when I started reading this book, and still don't know much, but I do have a healthy respect for the sport now. The story is told from one point of view, which is necessary considering the twist at the end. PD Singer did a great job of showing us a character who loves from afar, but who wants to get closer. What happens when he does makes for a wonderful love story.

This book is a fun read that dives into the world of rugby and the unexpected connections that form both on and off the field. Robin Isley has a huge crush on Yves Dubois, a local rugby star. The way Robin obsesses over Yves' games adds a humorous touch. You feel the thrill as Robin becomes his number one fan, attending practices and cheering with enthusiasm.

What's great here is the gradual development of Robin's character. He starts off shy and unsure but works to step out of his comfort zone. The chemistry between Robin and Yves simmers and I enjoyed the subtleties in their interactions. Yves' warm smiles towards Robin made the sexual tension between them believable.

The pacing kept me engaged, making it impossible to put the book down. Although the rugby backdrop is a big part of the story, the main story is the emotional exploration of Robin's courage. The writing has a relaxed vibe. If you're looking for a light romance with a sports vibe, pick up Scrum.

#Review: Sword Dance by AJ Demas #MMRomance #Mythology

#Review: Sword Dance by AJ Demas #MMRomance #Mythology

#Review: Sword Dance by AJ Demas #MMRomance #MythologyFive years ago, Damiskos's brilliant military career was cut short, leaving him with a permanent disability and scars that are not all physical. Adrift and still grieving, he tries to find meaning in an unsatisfying job.

Work takes him to the remote seaside villa of an old friend, where, among an odd assortment of guests, he meets the eunuch sword-dancer Varazda. Enigmatic and beautiful but distinctly prickly, Varazda is the antithesis of the straightforward and serious Damiskos. Yet as they keep getting in each other's way at the villa, their mutual dislike is complicated by a spark of undeniable attraction.

Then the villa's guests begin to reveal their true characters and motives—no one here is what they seem—and Damiskos finds himself at the centre of a bizarre web of espionage, theft, and assassination. Varazda may need Damiskos's help, but not as much as Damiskos, finally awakening to a new sense of life and purpose, needs Varazda.

Sword Dance is the first book in the Sword Dance trilogy, an m/nb romance set in an imaginary ancient world, with murderous philosophy students, sex acts named after fruit, and love blossoming in the midst of mayhem.

Sword Dance

I read this book several years ago, and decided to go back to it. Sword Dance is a change of pace for anyone who loves gay romance mixed with history and mythology. Damiskos struggles to find purpose after losing his military life and gaining a permanent disability. Varazda comes across as thorny and has a mysterious background. Their chemistry feels natural, slowly building to sweet and believable.

What sets this book apart is how it blends romance with mythology and espionage, woven with a touch of humor. Clever surprises keep things interesting. The secondary characters add to the story without overshadowing the lead pair. Sword Dance offers a promise for more fun adventures to come.
