Setting: The World of Stachien

The vibrant planet Stachien teeters on the edge of magic and reality. Vast grasslands stretch across the central and southern regions, giving way to the serene expanse of the Kellindahr Plains. Colorful wildflowers dot the plains and sway in the warm winds, while shimmering streams wind their way through the fertile terrain.

Inhabitants hold deep reverence for the fae, mystical beings believed to coexist in a hidden dimension that blurs with their own during the solstices, infusing the air with an otherworldly energy.

North of the Kellindahr lies the forbidding expanse of the Denauerman Mountains, a massive and impassable range of jagged peaks that penetrate the sky like ancient sentinels. Their sheer cliffs and craggy surfaces create natural barriers that divide mysteries and magic from the world of mortals. They also cradle legends of lost fae dwellings in the valleys below. At the southern foot of these mountains lies Lake Chon, a reflective inner sea that serves as a lifeblood for the surrounding areas, fed by the meandering waters of the Sammon River. The lake's waters brim with fish and shimmering creatures, providing sustenance and a sense of magic to the inhabitants’ daily lives.

Nestled at the northwestern edge of this mystical landscape is Qarth, a country within the looming shadows of the northern mountains. Qarth thrives with a rich history, shaped by its proximity to the glowing Gates of Life, an ancient site marked by two towering arches of a mysterious metallic alloy. The locals believe these gates hold a connection to the fae realm, instilling both awe and reverence in those who visit. Just north of this sacred site lies the small city of Pleenth, bustling with families and travelers alike. Every year, during the solstices, the city transforms into a collective sanctuary, where people gather beneath the arches to celebrate and honor the fae.

During these magical times, the air is thick with anticipation, and the scent of freshly baked offerings wafts through the crowd. Families sing the ancient songs, stories of the fae woven into their melodies, while tables overflow with foods shared in good spirits. As day gives way to night, the sky shimmers with stars, and it is said that the very fabric of reality softens, allowing fleeting glimpses of the fae dimensions intertwined with their own.

Yet, amidst the joyous festivities, a tension hums beneath the surface—debates swirl regarding the ancient ritual of carrying newborns beneath the Gates of Life. While many believe this tribute is essential to appease the elusive Faerii and secure a harmonious existence, others regard it as an outdated superstition, contentious yet integral to their cultural identity. The air crackles with magic, history, and opinions as the cycles of nature continue to weave their intricate tapestry in Stachien, leaving the inhabitants to navigate a world where magic and reality forever entwine.
