The pacing keeps things moving without rushing into things, letting the relationship build naturally. Both guys have powerful motivations beyond each other, which validates them as people.

If you enjoy contemporary gay romance with believable characters and emotions that feel true, give this one a shot. It's easy to get invested in their story and want to see where things might go next.

This is a sweet, easy read that explores attraction and identity. Wicksy, a guy who's always been into women, finds himself drawn to Charlie, a drag queen with a playful and bold vibe. Their connection feels natural and honest, with both learning more about themselves as they spend time together. Mud & Lace handles the ideas of sexuality and gender in a way that feels light but meaningful. The writing style keeps things flowing, making it a nice pick for readers who want a fun romance with some thoughtful moments. The characters' back-and-forth banter adds to the easygoing energy throughout. Recommended.

Operation Makeover

This book was a delight from start to finish. Ridley, the main character, is relatable and ready for a change. His transformation is not just about his appearance, but also about embracing who he is. The chemistry between Ridley and Cole is instant, and their banter adds humor throughout the story.

Cole is the perfect counterpart to Ridley, both in and out of the salon. He's got this wonderful confidence and flair that makes him such an engaging character. Their interactions feel natural and honest, making the reader root for their connection. The way their relationship develops is smooth and inviting, making you want to keep reading.

The backdrop of the salon and the makeover concept brings a fun twist to the typical friend-to-lover trope. And while Ridley's feelings for Jace create some tension, it's the growing bond with Cole that really shines. This story is a blend of sweet moments, laughter, and a bit of self-discovery. Operation Makeover has warmth and heart, and I loved reading it. Recommended.
