Stormtroopers! Gotta love 'em. This type of costume is at every con, and they look absolutely real. These two had been posing with folks by having them kneel and then holding their guns on them. When it was my turn, they saw my cane (I have vertigo) and wrist brace (I'd sprained it a week before DC) so they instantly posed as if they were my protectors instead. Very cool! At one point, there were a lot of people trying to get on an escalator, and a Stormtrooper showed up and took control. He gestured with his gun and said, "Move along. Move along." It was classic! Laughing, everyone did as told.
Lunchtime was chaotic, and Ally Blue and I were trying to find someplace without a crowd. My Friend's Place in the Peachtree Center food court was blessedly quick and we shared a table with a very friendly couple. Using my camera, Ally took this pic of me with them, and I took one of her with hers. We've all emailed since. They were a lot of fun and I hope to see them again next year.
Last pic at the con! This was in Kiernan Kelly's hotel room right after she painted my face. The panel we were about to attend had a GLBT theme, and I wanted a rainbow. Her version was a knockout, and everyone commented on it. I hated to wash it off!
