Taking a Shot is part of the Desert Ice Hockey series. It takes place before the first book (Stick By Me). It contains the backstory of Archer's relationship with Milo, a keyboard player from the Rock U series, and is an introduction to the squad, a group of queer college hockey players and best friends who share a house together, and includes a steamy scene.
